| HomeSaying goodbye to Nigel and RosOn 1st November, Janet Ball led the residents of Morritt Avenue in a brief present giving ceremony for Nigel and Ros, who are sadly leaving us. They have contributed greatly to the wonderful community atmosphere we enjoy. Pictures from the 2017 BBQOnce again Nigel and Ros kindly hosted the Morritt Avenue BBQ on August bank holiday Sunday. Here are a few photographs from the event. The mystery towerSome of the old photographs of Morritt Avenue show a large tower on the even side of the street which is now long gone. Old PostcardsThe 'Electric Printing Works' in Crossgates, produced a number of postcards of local street scenes. Here are a couple of postcards, along with the text from the back. If anyone can shed any light on the sender or recipients, please let us know. Morritt Avenue being built in 1903We were lucky enough to come across a collection of photographs of Seacroft Hospital being built. The hospital was built at the same time as Morritt Avenue, and by chance, several of the photographs included views of Morritt Avenue in the distance.
